Here you will find all information on your oral or poster presentation at the PCIM Europe 2019.

Manuscript for the conference proceedings

The proceedings are a summary of all oral and poster presentations and give a comprehensive overview of the main contents of the conference. It will be published on a USB flash drive with ISBN number.

Deadline
Please email your manuscript before 4 March 2019 to donata.pfender@mesago.com as processable PDF (max. 10 MB) to be included in the conference proceedings.

Please note the following:
Your manuscript will be published as it is submitted and will not be edited or rewritten.
It will only be published in the proceedings if you have registered as a speaker.

With regards to the general outline and graphical style of the proceedings, we ask you to use the template for your manuscript.

Important guidelines, which have to be absolutely aligned, are:

  • Layout: European A4 size (210mm x 297mm), two-column format (column width 8.59 cm)
  • Extend: The number of pages is restricted to a maximum of 8 pages.
  • Number of pages: No indication of page numbers (will be carried out by the publisher)
  • Font type and size: Use of font Arial (minimum 10 point), text 12pt line spacing
  • Margins: left 1,65 cm, right 1,65 cm, top 2,5 cm, bottom 3,5 cm
  • Pictures and graphics have to be embedded in the PDF file, with consecutively numbered captions
  • Company letterheads: Do not use company letterheads or paper with company logos. This will automatically lead to the manuscript being rejected. The same applies if any company identification is printed automatically throughout the text or if company-/product brochures are used as a "component" in the manuscript.

By submitting your manuscript to Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, you accept our copyright agreement.

The production of USB flash drive may not be undertaken using unlicensed software. The authors of manuscripts must therefore affirm that only licensed software has been used to prepare their paper and thus release Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH from any claim for damages from third parties.

Online registration

Speakers must register online for the conference by 4 February 2019. You will receive the booking link by e-mail in January.

Please note that the registration is mandatory. After completing your online registration you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. The PDF attached to this e-mail is your entry ticket. Please print this ticket and bring it to the conference.

The special conference fee for speakers is 350 Euro + VAT.

The speakers registration includes the following services:

  • Entrance to the full conference on all three days and the accompanying exhibition
  • PCIM Europe 2019 conference proceedings
  • All papers presented at the PCIM Europe Conference 2019 and published in the PCIM Europe 2019 proceedings will be included in the IET Inspec database, Compendex, Scopus and IEEExplore
  • Invitation to the welcome party on Tuesday, 7 May 2019
  • Invitation to the Advisory Board and Speakers Evening on Wednesday, 8 May 2019
  • Free marketing services

We are offering special prices for co-authors who wish to register for the conference.

One day 380/430 Euro + VAT
Two days 580/630 Euro + VAT
Full conference 690/740 Euro + VAT

Early registration fee available until 14 March 2019.

Information about the registration will be sent out to all co-authors directly by e-mail in February 2019. Therefore, please tell us the full contact details including the e-mail address of each co-author.

Seminar and tutorial instructors must register online until 4 February 2019.

Please note that the registration is mandatory and free of charge. In January you will obtain an e-mail with the appropriate instructions on how to register. After completing your online registration you will receive a confirmation by e-mail.

The registration includes the following services:

  • Free entrance to the PCIM Europe Exhibition 2019
  • Full conference ticket on a reduced fee of 350 Euro + VAT
  • Invitation to the welcome party on Tuesday, 7 May 2019
  • Invitation to the Advisory Board and Speakers Evening on Wednesday, 8 May 2019
  • Documentation of all other seminars or tutorials in digital form

If you as a speaker are, for any reason, unable to attend the conference, we would urge that a co-author or appropriate colleague from your company/university presents the paper. Please note that speaker changes are only possible in exceptional cases and have to be reported immediately to donata.pfender@mesago.com in writing.

If no one is available to present the paper and Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH has not been notified beforehand, the speaker will not be accepted for any other future PCIM Conferences.

Presentation as speaker

A document with tips and hints how to prepare a presentation is available for download:

Duration: 25 minutes including questions and answers.

Language: The official language during the entire conference is English. Please prepare your slides and presentation in English.

New: Pre-submission of your presentation. It is mandatory to send in your ppt file in advance no later than 29 April 2019 to donata.pfender@mesago.com. We will then ensure that your presentation is available on the laptop in the conference room before the session starts.

NEW: All presentations will be saved as PDF files on site and will be published shortly after PCIM Europe Conference. In case, you would like to make any amendments, please send the updated version to donata.pfender@mesago.com before 16 May 2019, otherwise the original PDF file will be published.

Arrival time: In order to meet your session chairperson, please arrive at your conference room at least 5 minutes before your session begins. The session chairperson will have already been given your short biography and manuscript and will introduce you to the audience. You are required to be present during the entire session.

Technical equipment: Each room is equipped with a laptop, projector and microphones. You may bring your presentation file on a USB flash drive. A technician will be available in the room of your session to help you. We suggest that you make use of the morning, lunch time or coffee breaks to prepare your presentation.

Speakers room: There will be a speakers room on site. This room serves as a meeting point for advisory board members and speakers. The location of the speakers room will be announced on-site.

Poster Presentation

Poster format and layout: DIN A0, portrait format (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm) in upright format in color. The design and content of the poster is a matter of the speaker. Each poster presenter may bring two posters. In case you only have one, please print it twice so both walls are covered.

Language: English

Each chairperson will receive the posters in advance, so please make sure that you send them in electronic form by 16 April 2019 to donata.pfender@mesago.com. Every presenter is responsible for the production of the poster himself.

Day of your presentation: Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon

Display board/booth: Each speaker will be provided with his/her own display board with a sign on each booth indicating the number of your paper, as printed in the official conference program. Please note that there are two walls per speaker. Therefore, each poster presenter may bring two posters. In case you only have one, please print it twice so both walls are covered.

Poster set-up: At least 3 hours before starting the dialogue session. The necessary equipment for fixing your poster is provided by the organizer and can be collected at the conference counter.
Please note that it is important that the speaker is present during the entire dialogue session.
Your material must be removed by 6.30 pm on the day of your presentation. Any material that is not removed will be thrown away.

Speakers room: There will be a speakers room on site. This room serves as a meeting point for advisory board members and speakers during the whole conference. The location of the speakers room will be announced on-site.

Seminars and tutorials

Each delegate attending your seminar/tutorial will receive the documentation of your seminar/tutorial in printed and digital version. The attendees of all other seminars/tutorials, which are running in parallel will receive the digital version.

Deadline

Instructions

Coversheet: In order to achieve a consistent look for all the seminar/tutorial presentations, Mesago will produce the cover pages for all documentations.

  • Order: Your submitted manuscript should start with the synopsis or overview of your presentation. The text should be structured and numbered according to the decimal classification system. The manuscript must contain the following in sequential order: text, pictures and tables. If you have included any pictures or tables, they must be embedded at
    the respective position within the text. A subtitle is mandatory below the tables.
  • Content: We recommend, that you include your presentation slides, which you will be
    using during the seminar/tutorial, in the documentation.
  • Extend: the number of pages is restricted to a maximum of 80 pages for tutorials and 50 pages for seminars
  • Margins: left 1,5 cm, right 1,5 cm, top 0,5 cm, bottom 0,5 cm
  • Font type and size: Use of font Arial (minimum size 10) text single spacing
  • Company letterheads: Do not use company letterheads, company logos, any company identification or company-/product brochures as a "component" in the manuscript. This will automatically lead to the manuscript being rejected.

A few weeks before the event, you will receive information with the final organizational details, including information about where and how to check-in as a seminar/tutorial instructor.

Venue: The seminars and tutorials take place at the Arvena Park Hotel in Nuremberg.

Presentation time:

  • Seminar: Sunday 5 May 2019 from 14.00 to 17.30 hrs, including a 30 minutes coffee break
  • Tutorial: Monday, 6 May 2019, from 09.00 to 17.00 hrs, including a morning and afternoon 30 minutes coffee break and one hour lunch time.

Technical equipment: Each room is equipped with a flipchart, an LCD projector and, depending on the size of the room, a microphone. Please bring your own laptop for your presentation.
