The diodes designed by ESTEL are used in DC and AC circuits with frequency of up to 500 Hz, in general purpose electrical and electronic devices, in low voltage rectifiers for welding and electroplating equipment, in the electrotechnical equipment of ships, in converters of electrically propelled vehicles, and in power supplies of machine tools and automatic production lines.
The fast recovery diodes of ESTEL are used in static power converters and electronic devices, as well as in other DC and AC circuits of various power units, where the specific intervals of reverse recovery and low recovery charges are primarily required.These diodes can also be used as freewheeling diodes connected back-to-back/parallel to thyristors or as shunting diodes for inductance load.
Avalanche diodes of ESTEL are rectifier diodes with controlled avalanching allowing power pulse to dissipate in the breakdown region of the reverse volt-ampere curve within a limited period of time.These diodes are used in DC and AC circuits with frequency of up to 500 Hz, and in general purpose electrical and electronic devices.Avalanche diodes can eliminate or considerably simplify overvoltage protection circuits in converters, especially in case of a large number of series connected diodes.

THYRISTOR

Thyristors desigend by ESTEL are used in DC and AC converters with an operating frequency of up to 1,000 Hz, in inverting and switching circuits of converter setups for electric locomotives and other types of electrically propelled vehicles, in power rectifiers for electroplating baths, for charging batteries, in high-voltage rectifier-inverter units of DC transmission line substations, and in aircraft de-icing equipment.
Fast thyristors of ESTEL are used in static power converters, and in various DC and AC power units with a frequency of up to 5,000 Hz, where short on/off switching intervals are required; in various types of electric welding equipment, in frequency converters for electrothermics, in traction systems of electric locomotives and electrified urban transport vehicles, in air ozonizers, in generators, and in modulators.
Fast distributed gate thyristors (high-speed pulse thyristors) of ESTEL are used in oscillators, modulators, inverters, and electric drive systems with thyristor-controlled pulse control with frequency of up to 10,000 Hz, where pulse operating currents, short on/off switching intervals, and high rates of current build-up are primarily required. The thyristors are characterized by high current-carrying capacity at high frequencies.
Fast Strong Distributed Gate Thyristors (high-speed pulse thyristors) of ESTEL are designed for performance upon high frequency up to 20 kHz. Strong distributed amplified gate along with turn-off time less than 10 MicroSec designates high current drive capability upon high frequency.
Avalanche thyristors designed by ESTEL are used in static power converters and in other DC and AC circuits with a frequency of up to 1,000 Hz. Under certain conditions of reverse voltages, they can be used without any additional protection measures.

VOLTAGE SUPPRESSOR

Voltage suppressors designed by ESTEL are rectifier avalanche diodes that dissipate power pulse in the breakdown region of the reverse volt-ampere curve within a limited period of time. They are used for protection of semiconductor power devices and capacitors from switching surges, as well as to limit voltage in electrical equipment at frequencies up to 500 Hz.
