Ready for High-Performance Chipsets
This new member of the SEMiX 3 Press-Fit family is optimized for the latest generation of high junction temperature, high-current chips. Semikron Danfoss’s new SEMiX 3p+ housing enables half-bridge modules with maximum current ratings of at least 900A and operating junction temperatures of 175°C. Welded high-current terminals ensure reliable connection while advanced materials withstand and dissipate heat.
When equipped with the new 1700V IGBT C7 from CRRC, the SEMiX 3p+ provides especially improved power density and performance for high-power wind converters.

Enhancing Supply Chain Safety
The latest generation IGBT and diode chips from CRRC are now available in a variety of power modules with blocking voltages of 1200V, 1700V, and 2300V. CRRC IGBTs feature a maximum operating junction temperature of up to 175°C and low conduction and switching losses. These high-power chips are ideal for 3-level ANPC converters for wind, 2-level motor drives, and power dense 1500V converters for solar, ESS, and green hydrogen. A proven chip supplier in China, CRRC allows us to offer power modules with complete local content at our facility in Nanjing.

H2S Protection and More
Power converters are increasingly deployed in environments where sulfur-containing chemicals are present, either through specific industrial processes (fertilizers from farming) or general pollution. These chemicals (typ. H2S) can react with the metals inside power modules and cause fatal short circuits when dendrites are formed. SemiSeal provides a protective layer inside power modules to prevent dendrite formation on critical surfaces. As an added benefit, in certain products, it can also increase the humidity robustness.
