HORNET® - High Voltage Differential Probes

PMK Mess- und Kommunikationstechnik GmbH

Description

The state-of-the-art high voltage differential probe series HORNET® combines a ±4000V differential and common mode voltage input range with a remarkable >300MHz bandwidth, establishing itself as the best-in-class solution for the growing demands of wide bandgap power electronics design, e.g. double pulse testing of high-speed high-voltage switching devices of SiC technology, and testing of IGBTs, thyristors, fast-switching HV diodes, and more.

The HORNET® series probes have a universal BNC output connector and is compatible with any oscilloscope in the lab with 50Ω input impedance, or 1MΩ input impedance and a 50Ω feed-through termination.

This high voltage differential probe series is not for handheld use and for integration into full-automated or manual test stations for high-voltage safety reasons. HORNET® is therefore used as a voltage-measuring component (permanently attached device) in a test system or safety test environment with recommendation to be controlled remotely.

The „PMK Probe Control“ PC software with graphical user interface is free of charge and included with PMK’s 2ch and 4ch power supplies PS-02 and PS-03, which are required to power the scope-agnostic probe. The PS-02 and PS-03 power supplies all have a USB interface and are available with optional LAN interface.

Download „PMK Probe Control“ here: http://www.pmk.de/en/products/probecontrol

In addition, the Python package "Pmk-probes" is available as a programming interface for controlling active PMK probes. Installation instructions, examples and documentation can be found here:

ISO17025 calibration upon delivery or as re-calibration is available.

For adapting to test points, we recommend the new test point to 4mm adapters with MMCX-, SMA-, BNC- or square pin inputs.

3D POSITIONING SYSTEMS

3D POSITIONING SYSTEMS

SKID® is a unique platform designed to satisfy all sorts of different demands on PCBA testing and debugging in one single item. It offers a modular design, wich enables the user to expand the SKID® according to his needs. The frame is available in three versions: SKID®S offers a clamping width of at least 160 x160 mm, wich fits the 3U standard PCB form factor, SKID®M for 6U cards
and SKID®L with a clamping width of 300x340mm. Of course smaller boards can be tested as well. The PCBA spacers can be positioned to clamp most geometrical forms;even inconvenient non-standard shapes, that are usually hard to clamp. The PCBA resides 10 mm above the frame, offering a better accessibility to the dut and the SKID® itself stands on 90 mm pedestals, enabling access from top- and bottom- side simultaneously. Standard M6 threads are all around the frame to mount equipment, such as probe positioners, lamps or other accessories. Depending on its configuration, SKID® can be used from 0 °C to +50 °C, or for environmental testing in climate chambers for temperatures from -55 °C to +155 °C, each with non-condensing humidity, depending on choosen model.
SKID® is available in three sizes. SKID®S for 3UPCB‘s, SKID®M for 6U PCB‘s and SKID®L for any PCBA‘s larger than the 6U standard. Since the frame consists only of a few parts, the setup of the SKID® is done in a breath. M6 threads all around the frame allow mounting of multiple accessories, such as test equipment, lighting and magnifiers or even cameras to record or stream video. e.g. thermal images. The low gravity center of the SKID® allows even comparable large and heavy devices to be mounted.
