As electric vehicles evolve toward higher power onboard chargers and more compact auxiliary power systems, thermal management has become one of the most consequential design challenges facing power electronics engineers. Traditional bottom-side cooled discrete packages impose significant constraints on PCB layout, heatsink integration, and overall system volume — limitations that are increasingly incompatible with the automotive industry's relentless drive toward lighter, smaller, and more efficient power conversion.

Brett is working in marketing for power die, discretes, and modules with a specific regional focus on the Americas at Wolfspeed. He has been with the power business unit since 2015. His areas of focus include the design, manufacturing, and testing of Wolfspeed SiC power modules at the low- to medium-voltage level, with specific focus on test automation and system-level design, integration, and applications. He received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 2020.
