From Concept to Vehicle Demo: 11 kW - 85 kHz Wireless EV Charger with Active Load Impedance Matching

11 Jun 2026

Speaker: Nicolas Allali, Product Hardware Architect, Valeo

This presentation introduces the design and demonstration of an 11 kW - 85 kHz wireless EV charger featuring Active Load Impedance Matching on the rectifier stage. The concept enables high efficiency across low and high power ranges, reduced sensitivity to coil misalignment, effective bidirectional operation for V2X and improved interoperability between ground assemblies (GA) and vehicle assemblies (VA) from different suppliers. A combo wired - wireless charger prototype was implemented in a vehicle demonstrator, validating both theoretical analysis and practical feasibility. Experimental results confirm the robustness of the proposed architecture, highlighting its potential for next-generation high-power wireless charging systems in electric mobility.
